General Information
BORDEN,
founded
in 1905,
serves a large agricultural area. Borden is situated on the divided, four-lane TransCanada
Yellowhead Highway (Number 16) and is approximately 5 miles west of the North Saskatchewan
River. MAP With a main Canadian
National Railway line, it has the excellent transportation
potential.
THE community of
Borden has a keen
sense of its past. Progressive attitudes and loyalty to local businesses and services
mean
survival. The cooperative spirit, which makes life rich for individuals, extends to
organizations
(Credit Union, Co-op Grocery store, Farm Supply and bulk fuels, cooperative pastures,
Co-op
feeder Association, Farmer's
Market, and Grain Companies.)
THE Village
of Borden is
attractive with neat homes in well-kept yards. The streets are lined with mature trees
and
bushes. Senior
housing is in the town center, with shops and services just a block
away. Families
are moving out to Borden from Saskatoon as the close proximity to the city, a four-lane
highway
and cheaper gas prices at the local service station make it attractive to commute.
An added
attraction to residing in Borden is the village taxes are low,
there is a K- 12 school,
and
all the amenities desired of a small town.
TOURISTS

Foster's General Store, established circa 1920, attend the weekly Farmers' Market and
